It’s a very fair point. Noise is something which bothers some people, but others may not notice as much. We also have real life examples at cameralabs . com in our gallery and results pages.
Just think how much it would cost to buy a high quality VR type Nikon or Canon lens with the FZ8’s zoom range. IMO the noise issue with small sensors are way over-rated. When we used high speed B/W or color film we saw huge grain effects, & others raved about the grittiness of Kodak Tri-X 400. Steves-digicams have got great ‘real world’ type sample photos & the FZ8 photos look fine to me!
I’ve not tested the S3 so can’t really say - sorry! But do compare prices closely against the newer FZ18 and S5 models as sometimes the older ones aren’t much cheaper.
Hi. . im on a tight budget. . and im choosing between Canon s3 is and Panasonic Fz8. . which one can produce great image quality. . which one will you prefer. . Thanks i really need some help. .
The battery details are at the bottom of the design page of our full review at cameralabs. Yep, it should come with a battery, but some unscrupulous dealers may remove it and try and sell seperately, so watch out! Again you can find reputable dealers on the cameralabs website.
hey i’ve got a question. the batteries or accu. . how long can i use the camera before its empty? and when i order this camera on internet do i get the batteries/accu also?
greetz Chris

is it true that VENUSIII engine is adding its noise reduction thing even in the RAW mode. . is the raw mode useful to optimize noise reduction from this specific model? thanks
Hi, both models have been replaced by the TZ5 and FZ18, and we’ve detailed the differences in the verdict page of our TZ5 review at cameralabs . com.
being super compact its not very important for me cause im always with a bag,but if tz3 have also good zoom. . how about other caracteristics?the price is the same. . im realy confused, help me please!thanks
i would like to know the diferences between tz3 and fz8. . . sory,i dont know much about cameras. . im loking for one. . for now im loking for this ones,,fz8 is best because it have more manual opcions?how about ISO?beter than tz3? thanks
No, you cannot change the lens. It is not a slr camera.

I haven’t tested the H3, so can’t say. . . Of the models I have tested though, I reckon the newer FZ18 is the best super-zoom around. . .

Hi! I’ve detailed the differences in the verdict page of the FZ18 review at the Cameralabs website.
